About Me
I am Yamen Helel, a statistician with a deep passion for surveys, data analysis, and leveraging AI to advance official statistics. With over 20 years of global experience, I have contributed to labor force statistics, survey design, and the development of social and demographic indicators.
Throughout my career, I have collaborated with leading national and international organizations, including the National Statistical Institute of Tunisia, UNICEF, ILO, the United Nations Development Programme, and the General Authority for Statistics in Saudi Arabia. Where I have implemented surveys, collected data, and delivered insightful analyses to inform decision-making.
Currently, my focus is on AI-powered survey interviews. My mission is to bridge the gap between traditional statistical methods and cutting-edge AI technologies to modernize and enhance the field of official statistics.

Supporting the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in developing the national labor force survey and labor market statistics.
Director of Labor Force Statistics
Progressed through administrative roles to attain the position of Director of the Labor Market Statistics Department, the entity responsible for conducting quarterly Labor Force Surveys in Tunisia, developing labor market statistics, and managing all related projects
Lead Coordinator of the Euro-Mediterranean Working Group on Labor Statistics
Coordinated and organized the Euro-Mediterranean Working Group on Labor Statistics activities from 2013 to 2018 as the main coordinator. Supervised the coordination of working group meetings in labor statistics and related methodologies. My responsibilities included coordinating efforts to improve data collection methodologies, standardizing statistical standards, and supporting capacity building in member states.
